A Historic First for Bulgaria and ITGix
We’re thrilled to share that Daniel Dimitrov, a team member at ITGix, has been officially selected as an AWS Cloud Club Captain for 2025! This makes him the first-ever Cloud Club Captain in Bulgaria, marking a significant milestone both for Daniel and for our company’s growing engagement in the cloud community.
What Are AWS Cloud Clubs?
AWS Cloud Clubs is a global program launched by Amazon Web Services to empower students around the world to explore cloud computing and develop technical leadership skills. Designed specifically for university students, AWS Cloud Clubs offer a platform for hands-on learning, community building, and collaboration with AWS experts.
Students selected as Cloud Club Captains are given the opportunity to:
- Build and grow a student-led tech community
- Host events, workshops, and tech talks
- Gain access to exclusive AWS resources and mentorship
- Collaborate with AWS professionals and fellow captains worldwide
This initiative helps bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, nurturing the next generation of cloud-native professionals.

What This Means for the Local Student Tech Community
Over the course of the next 12 months (May 2025 – April 2026), Daniel will be responsible for:
- Building the AWS Cloud Club community at Technical University Sofia
- Organizing events, workshops, and hands-on labs on cloud technologies
- Encouraging peer learning and technical growth
- Connecting local students with AWS tools and experts
- Promoting open-source collaboration and DevOps culture
