Taylor & Hart are redefining the rules of engagement by embracing what makes jewellery magical – creating heartfelt custom engagement rings and bespoke wedding rings.

Like many fast-moving startups which are “born in the cloud”, the client initially built a proof-of-concept infrastructure to support their core platform and services.  As their user base expanded globally and operational demands increased, they began experiencing higher latency when serving international users, along with growing needs around scalability, security, cost optimization, and streamlined software delivery. Recognizing this natural point of evolution, the organization partnered with ITGix to modernize their AWS environment and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

aws infrastructure optimization

Our Professional Services team engaged with the client to develop a tailored AWS solution that directly addressed their latency challenges.

A global CDN strategy was implemented using Amazon CloudFront to accelerate website performance. By leveraging CloudFront edge locations and serving content from distributed origins-including EKS (for dynamic content), AWS Lambda (for compute-at-the-edge), and Amazon S3 (for static assets)-users benefit from faster load times worldwide

The platform was rearchitected into a containerized microservices model using Amazon EKS. This enhanced application scalability, reliability, and fault isolation across services

Amazon RDS was deployed as a highly available, scalable relational database, while Amazon ElastiCache enabled faster data access through in-memory caching-together improving backend responsiveness and supporting higher throughput.

The entire AWS infrastructure was defined and managed using Terraform, providing repeatable, auditable deployments and environment consistency across all regions

End-to-end CI/CD pipelines were implemented via GitLab, streamlining application deployments and infrastructure provisioning. This automation reduced manual steps, minimized deployment errors, and accelerated release cycles.

The collaboration resulted in clear improvements across the client’s cloud operations. With fully automated pipelines and infrastructure provisioning, the application release process became significantly faster and more reliable, enabling quicker delivery of new features. The newly implemented architecture also helped mitigate several DDoS attacks, improving the overall resilience and security of the platform. Website performance saw a noticeable boost, especially for users in the US and across Europe, thanks to the CloudFront-backed content delivery. Throughout the engagement, ITGix provided 24×7 support, helping the client maintain a stable and high-performing AWS environment.
